Project - NMMU Libraries KNX Installation

In 2010, CMW completed the programming of two KNX installations for the NMMU (Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan University). These installations were in the South Campus Library, and the Missionvale Campus Library.

The South Campus Library installation is the larger of the two, comprising of four floors and an additional mezzanine area.

In the South Campus Library, 375 KNX Devices were installed. These include Power Supplies, DALI gateways, Presence Detectors, 1/2/4 fold switch sensors, MT701.2 Display and Control Panels. 3592 lighting ballasts are controlled in total.

The Missionvale Campus Library installation consists of four floors, however the dimensions of the building are such that the installation is smaller and less complex than the South Campus installation.

For Missionvale, a total of 106 devices were installed - These include Power Supplies, DALI gateways, Presence Detectors, 1/2/4 fold switch sensors, MT701.2 Display and Control Panels.

In both projects, the main KNX components were motion sensors and touch screens, combined with the DALI lighting control system.
